L’ILE DE NOIRMOUTIER
The Ile de Noirmoutier is one of the must-sees on the Vendée coast.
You have two options to access it. You can take the bridge that connects the island to the mainland or, if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, the famous Passage du Gois, a 4.2 km submersible road that is unique in the world, allows access to the island at low tide.
You can enjoy the famous salt marshes, the Plage des Dames and its typical beach cabins, the listed forest of Bois de la Chaise, the fishing port of Herbaudière, and the historic heart of Noirmoutier with its 12th century château.
